Because this form of bespoke orthotic was created in 1967 at the University of California Biomechanics Lab, often known as the University of California Berkeley Labs, it is known as UCBL.
The purpose of this hard, plastic kemer desteği is to rectify the foot’s posture. The most common application is to treat a flexible flat foot.
The orthotic is unique in that it covers the entire heel with a molded heel cup that keeps the foot in a neutral, vertical position. It also maintains the neutral position of the foot by controlling the medial and lateral arches. It’s best worn with a sneaker or other comfortable walking shoe, but not with dress shoes.
The IDEASTEP UCBL is a modified version of the UCBL that has both medial and lateral flanges for support but a shallower heel cup. This is a less restrictive alternative to the traditional UCBL.
